A little on the name we all wear today:
Omo Baba 70 is a nickname born in Ikorodu, Lagos, when ClassyKinging's late father turned 70 and the neighbourhood took notice. The celebration was big enough that people started calling him by it, and the name stuck the way only the truest things do — so when it was time to build a brand in 2017, there was really only one name it could be. Not a brand name. A family name. A tribute. A piece of identity turned into something the whole world could wear.

Today is ClassyKinging's birthday, and it feels like the right moment to tell that story again.
Because 0B70 did not begin with investors or industry connections or a clear runway — it began with a young man from Ikorodu who liked dressing well, who had older siblings that passed down good taste, who wore nice sneakers to school and quietly filed that feeling away for later. It began as a side project running parallel to a music career, with late nights borrowing his sister's tailoring equipment and sourcing vintage shirts and denim from Katangowa market to upcycle and sell. It began with the kind of hunger that does not come from having nothing but from seeing something clearly and refusing to look away from it.
The journey was not straight, and it never is. There were years of grinding and years of doubt and years of asking whether the sacrifice was worth it — but in 2021, something clicked when a new head designer came on board and gave the brand a sharper visual identity, and ClassyKinging knew immediately that he had found his direction. The rebrand that followed marked the beginning of a new era for 0B70, and the momentum has not slowed since.

By 2024, the brand had opened a flagship store in Lekki and recorded its biggest year as a business — and it has only kept going from there, recording new heights across Nigeria and beyond, building a presence that stretches further than Ikorodu, further than Lagos, further than anyone might have imagined when this all started from a market stall and a borrowed sewing machine.
So today, as we celebrate Classy, the man behind the brand, we also celebrate everything the name carries with it — a father who turned 70 and a son who turned that memory into a movement, a kid from Ikorodu who stayed true to himself and built something that now dresses a generation.
Happy birthday, ClassyKinging. 0B70 is still just getting started. 🖤
